On the 15th February 2018, I formed what is now known as Tanso Racing Group on the Playstation 4 . We now race exclusively on iRacing on PC.
“When I formed TANSO I wanted to bring to the group the ethos of clean racing, friendship and no matter how fast or slow you are the most important thing is to have fun!”
Tanso has also helped our various charity events including Macmillan cancer support and a local hospital
We now have over 200 members in our group and we always looking to get new drivers to race in our events.
Based in the United Kingdom we are proud to see members joining us from Europe and as far away as America!

As a fellow sim racer once said we are all one group just under different names.

From the days of playing on the ZX81, I’ve embarked on a thrilling journey through the gaming world, driven by a lifelong passion for motorsports, cars, and bikes. My introduction to ‘sim racing’ started with the legendary Grand Prix series by Geoff Crammond, evolved through the Colin McRae games, and eventually led me to the F1 series on Playstation. Although I owned a basic Thrustmaster T150 and pedals, it wasn’t until late 2021 that I truly discovered the excitement of proper sim racing.
Now, nestled in my TrakRacer rig and equipped with a Fanatec wheel base and Heusinkveld Sprint pedals, I dive into the iRacing universe most days, reliving the thrill of my youth. Open-wheelers remain my favourite, but I’m always up for racing anything on wheels.
Being part of the Tanso team has been incredibly rewarding. I contribute to admin duties and have had the pleasure of managing our newly built website. I’m proud that my company, Clark St. James, sponsors the league, helping to nurture the spirited community and exhilarating races that define the Tanso Racing Group!
Shaun Atkinson – Administrator
Shaun’s journey into the world of sim racing began about three to four years ago with a PlayStation 4. His passion for racing games was sparked by Project Gotham Racing 2 on the original Xbox, which eventually led him to the immersive universe of racing simulators.
Shaun discovered iRacing and shortly after, he joined forces with John at TANSO Racing Group. Joining TANSO has been one of the highlights of his sim racing career, providing him with a community of like-minded enthusiasts. The group, diverse in skill and age, thrives on mutual support and enjoys a healthy dose of friendly banter, creating a fantastic atmosphere that Shaun is proud to be a part of.
Under Shaun’s enthusiastic participation, TANSO Racing continues to grow, hosting numerous events and rapidly building an excellent reputation.
